Enough of the politics.
Let's focus on providing our children a quality education.
Priorities & Goals
Transparency and Accountability
Commit to real transparency. Not slogans. Clear communication, open records, and honest decision-making.
Support and Retain Great Teachers
Work to improve teacher benefits, including bereavement leave, maternity leave, and paid time off. Make New Hanover County a place where top educators want to stay and grow.
Early Intervention for At-Risk Students
Identify at-risk students earlier and intervene sooner. Partner with families, schools, and the community to get kids on the right path before problems escalate.
Stronger Community Partnerships
Expand partnerships with local organizations and businesses to support students, especially those who need additional guidance and resources.
Career and Technical Education Pathways
Grow existing CTE programs and expand non-college career pathways. Create a Blue-Collar Role Model program where local business owners and tradespeople inspire students.
Student Entrepreneurship
Develop district-wide small business and entrepreneurship support to help students explore, launch, and grow their ideas.
Smaller Class Sizes
Work to reduce student-to-teacher ratios so teachers can teach and students can be known.
Expanded Pre-K Access
Secure funding to expand Pre-K programs and give children a stronger start before they enter kindergarten.
Modern, Responsible Technology Use
Increase technology-based enrichment, including exposure to emerging tools like AI, while teaching students how to use technology responsibly.
Student Safety and Youth Crime Prevention
Confront the rise in youth gang activity through prevention, accountability, and coordinated community action.
fight for what matters most
Every decision should start with students, support the people who teach them, and earn the trust of families. That means honest leadership, early intervention for kids who need it most, and real preparation for life after graduation. Schools should be transparent, safe, and focused on opportunity, not politics.
